Serve for group leaders

Everything you need on group night is in the app: who's coming, tonight's lesson, roll call and prayer requests.

Home

Home shows what matters today:

  • Start roll call on meeting day, or Take attendance if you missed turning it in last time.
  • Tonight's lesson (or the next one coming up).
  • New posts and upcoming events.
  • Care: students who could use a text.
  • Birthdays in your group and on your team.
  • To do: polls, sign-ups, RSVPs, training and anything missing from your profile.

Lead more than one group? Tap the groups icon at the top of Home to switch.

Take attendance

  1. On Home, tap Start roll call.
  2. Tap each student who's there. A green check means present. Leaders are already marked.
    • Mark everyone checks everyone. Clear unchecks everyone.
  3. Someone came who isn't on your list? Tap Someone else came. You'll see people checked in at the door tonight. Pick them to add them.
  4. Add Notes if anything's worth remembering.
  5. Tap Save attendance.

Didn't meet? Tap We didn't meet instead.

To fix it later, tap Edit on the attendance card on Home.

Attendance you take here goes to your staff team in Ministry Toolkit. It isn't sent to CCB. Groups that take attendance at check-in don't need roll call, so you won't see the prompt.

You need signal to save. If saving fails, the sheet reloads and you'll need to tap names again.

Your group

The Group tab shows:

  • Details: room, who the group is for and your co-leaders.
  • Text the group / Email the group: message all the students or all the parents at once. Texts go in one group thread, so everyone sees each other's numbers. Emails go bcc.
  • Roster: each student and how often they've come. Tap the message icon to contact a student or their parent.
  • Not yet active: new students who've been placed in your group but haven't come enough to count as regulars.
  • Prayer and Who's been coming.

Before your season starts, you'll see a preview of what's coming.

The lesson

Tap the lesson card on Home. The screen stays awake while it's open.

  • Big idea sums up the lesson. Leader Prep has background for you to read beforehand.
  • Poll: tap Start the poll and pass your phone around. Nobody sees what others picked until you reveal the answers.
  • Would you rather: tap an answer once for every hand you see, then Show the room and Compare all groups.
  • Timer and Pick someone (a random student, no repeats until everyone's had a turn).

Prayer

At the end of the lesson (or on the Group tab):

  1. Tap What did they share?
  2. Tap a student's face, or All for the whole group.
  3. Type the request and press Return. The box stays open for the next one.

Tap a request to Add update, mark it Answered or Archive it. Requests with no update for about a month show under Needs a check-in.

Your staff team can see every prayer request. Don't write anything a student asked you to keep private.

Care

The Care tab lists students who might need something from you: who hasn't come lately, who's coming less, who never came, new faces and birthdays. It starts after your group has met three times.

Reach out

  1. Tap the message icon next to a student.
  2. Choose the student or their parent.
  3. Tap Text, Call or Email. (Or swipe the row left for Call and Text.)
  4. When you come back, tap Sent it or Didn't send.

Follow up

Students you contacted move to Waiting to hear back. Tap one to say what happened:

  • Heard back: they're left alone for three weeks.
  • Still nothing: you'll be asked again next week.
  • Not coming back.

Add a note if it helps. Other leaders and staff can see it.

Still on the roster?

For a student who has never come, tap Keep on the roster, or Tell staff with a reason (moved away, aged out, changed groups). Staff decide whether to remove them.
